Great Ad: The Ordinary — "The Periodic Fable"
🧪 Principle: Honesty as differentiation You build trust by exposing your own category's BS. Calling out the industry's empty jargon positions the brand as the only honest one in the room.
Great Ad: Canva — "Make the Logo Bigger"
🧪 Principle: Show, don't tell Make the ad itself the product demo. Each billboard literally performs a Canva feature, and leans on insider humor so the target audience (designers) feels seen.
Social Media Ad: CeraVe — "Michael CeraVe"
🧪 Principle: Earned media before paid Manufacture intrigue so the audience spreads the story for you, and the paid spot becomes the payoff, not the starting gun. Curiosity + participation = reach money can't buy.
